Steering Committee

The JSA Alumni Association Steering Committee represents alumni within the broader JSA community and helps direct alumni events and initiatives. The Committee’s mission is to engage alumni in current JSA programs and leverage the alumni community to ensure JSA’s sustainability and further strategic objectives.

The Committee’s members are:

Amy Messigian Amy Messigian
Amy served as JSA Southern State Speaker (1996-97); as Chapter President at James Monroe High School in North Hills, California (1995-96); and on the Angeles Region Cabinet (1995-96). She attended JSA Summer School at Georgetown University. Upon her high school graduation in 1997, she attended University of California – Los Angeles (2001) and Georgetown University Law Center (2006). Amy is an attorney with Epstein Becker & Green, P.C., where she practices employment law and litigation. She resides in Los Angeles, CA.
Crystal Frierson Crystal Frierson
Crystal served as JSA Southern State Governor (1999). She attended Granada Hills High School and two JSA Summer Schools: Stanford University (1995) and Georgetown University (1996). Upon her high school graduation in 1999, she attended Howard University (2003), Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs (2007) University of California – Berkeley Law School (2007). Crystal practices corporate law at Simpson, Thacher, & Bartlett LLP. She resides in Washington, D.C.
Dan Chorost Dan Chorost
Dan served as JSA Chapter President at Westfield High School in Westfield, New Jersey; Vice Mayor of the Mid-Atlantic Region (1986); then Mayor-Governor when the region became a state in 1987. He attended JSA Summer School at Stanford (1985) and Georgetown (1986 and 1987). Upon his high school graduation in 1988, Dan attended Rutgers College (1992) and then New York University School of Law (1996). A former member of JSA’s Board of Trustees, Dan is a partner at Sive, Paget, & Riesel, specializing in environmental law and litigation. He resides with his wife Sabrina Tavi (herself a former JSA mayor) and two daughters in Westchester County, NY.
Daniel Ingram Daniel Ingram, Chair
Daniel served as JSA New Jersey Region Mayor (2004-05) and Mid-Atlantic State Governor (2005-06) while a student at Scotch Plains – Fanwood High School in Scotch Plains, New Jersey. Upon his high school graduation in 2006, he attended Johns Hopkins University (2010). Daniel was a consultant with Deloitte in Washington, DC until moving to London in March to work for the non-profit, Teach First. He is currently pursuing an MBA at The Wharton School. A former member of the Board of Trustees, Daniel serves as Chair of the JSA Alumni Association. He resides in Philadelphia, PA.

Jordana served as JSA Southern State Governor (1997-98) while a student at Foothill High School in Tustin, California. Upon her high school graduation in 1998, she attended Harvard University (2002), and later University of California – Los Angeles School of Law (2007). Jordana is a television writer for NCIS: Los Angeles. She resides in Los Angeles, CA.
Niraj Antani Niraj Antani
Niraj served as Governor of the Ohio River Valley State from 2008-2009; as Mayor of the Ohio Valley Region; as Vice President of the Miamisburg High School Chapter, and various other cabinet positions throughout his four years in JSA. Niraj graduated from The Ohio State University in 2013 and now attends the University of Dayton School of Law to pursue a Juris Doctorate. He resides in Miamisburg, Ohio.

Paul served as JSA Chapter President at Temple City High School in Temple City, California. He also served on the Angeles Region Cabinet and attended the University of California – Davis Summer School (1983). Upon his high school graduation in 1984, he attended Occidental College (1988) and the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business (1997). Paul is a retired technology entrepreneur and Chair of JSA’s Board of Trustees. He resides in San Diego, CA.
Winstina S. Hughes Winstina S. Hughes
Winstina served as JSA Chapter President at Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey. She also served as Regional Justice for the Mid Atlantic Region. She attended two JSA summer schools, Princeton and Georgetown. Upon her high school graduation in 2000, she attended Rutgers University (2007). A journalist, freelance writer, and web designer, Winstina is pursuing a Masters in City and Regional Planning at Rutgers University. Winstina works in the DC office of the Junior Statesmen Foundation as an Office Manager and Student Services Coordinator. She resides in Washington, DC.
